Razorwax
Announces Massively Multiplayer Online RPG - Darkfall
Oslo, Norway - Aug. 03, 2001: Oslo Norway based games
developer Razorwax announces Darkfall, a Massively Multiplayer
Online RPG (MMORPG). Darkfall is 100% inhouse developed,
using Razorwax unique 3D/client, server and tools technology.
The Darkfall setting is traditional high-fantasy, with
elves, dragons, spells and magical items. Unlike other
MMORPGs that have already been released, Darkfall is highly
geared towards player vs. player combat, and especially
towards racial warfare and territorial conquest..
Darkfall will enter closed pre-alpha testing late August
2001.
"While
we are still very early in development, we wanted to get
a workable build out, and start letting a small amount
of outside testers and players on our servers as soon
as possible. Basically this will allow us to test our
client and servers, and to get valuable feedback on the
game", says Claus Grovdal, Lead Designer and Producer
of Darkfall. "We have seen lately that other companies
have been developing games for 2-3 years before starting
open testing. We want to try something different, and
be closer to our potential future players earlier in the
development process".
Darkfall is scheduled for release 1st Quarter 2003.
